Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Marvel Comics Presents #61 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Wolverine and Mimic climb to the top of the tower to stop the drunken rampaging Hulk. After some struggle, Hulk is attracted by a beacon in the distance and leaps off in its direction, with Wolverine and Mimic grabbing on for the ride. The beacon is coming from Dr. Rankin’s cave where Hulk is first restored to sanity and then to his Bruce Banner form. A hologram of Mimic’s father appears and explains that the machinery in the cave was designed to keep his power in check, but when he wandered outside its range, he lost control over his abilities. Now the equipment is breaking down and the hologram fades. Banner offers to repair the machinery but Cal Rankin considers that being dependent on a machine is almost as bad as being dependent on drugs. Wolverine suggests an alternate method: as the story ends we see Calvin restored to his true form by the practice of yoga and meditation.
