Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor #134 Synopsis by Marvel Comics
Just as Thor and the Recorder return to the Rigellians, Galactus appears at the Black Galaxy to explore its life readings.

Back on Earth, Thor arrives with Colonizers who tell Tana Nile to stand down. Returning to Rigel, they tell her that the Grand Commissioner, whom she has loved, wants to make her his wife.

Using a Rigellian psyche-search gauge, Thor sets out to find Jane Foster. In Transia, Tagar and Porga take Jane to Wundagore. Bandits accost them along the way but the Knights of Wundagore appear and defeat them. When Thor arrives, the Knights take him prisoner and bring him to Wundagore where he is shocked by their unmasked animal-like appearances.

Meanwhile, Quicksilver and the Scarlet With pass by Wundagore, wondering about the lights that shine on a mountain top.

At his genetic chamber, the High Evolutionary, the Knights' leader, is "evolving" a wolf when Thor barges in. He sends Thor to Jane, who is teaching a class of New Men. Unfortunately, Thor's interruption has caused the wolf to become far too evolved and it is now a "supreme man coupled with supreme beast" and a completely wicked creature.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Centuries ago, the evil race of Nastrond rebelled against Odin and he cursed the land with blight in his wrath. Now the All-Father has dispatched Thor and the Warriors Three to the desolate waste to survey the territory. After they survey the land (including a river turned to cracked crystal) they set up camp, planning to return to Asgard the following day. In the night, Volstagg is woken from guard duty by an old hermit, who offers to lead him to the Cave of the Ancients where he will find great knowledge. Ever desirous of glory, the doughty warrior follows the old man into a gigantic cavern where waits a radiant pool. Suddenly, Volstagg is seized by Fafnir, the last king of Nastrond, who reveals that the hermit was a mental projection and the energy of the pool has transformed him into a giant dragon. And this dragon seeks revenge against Odin—and Thor himself will be a hostage….
