Weapon X #4 Review by (April 21, 2020)

Review: An all-action issue, tightly plotted and extravagantly design to maximize the thrills. Hulk meets his match in twenty cyborgs and we learn Lady Deathstrike is not the forgiving type (no kidding? Look at her name!). And Stryker is a bad dude.

Weapon X #4 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Story continues from TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #19.

Hulk (Amadeus Cho) shows his teammates the layout of the Weapon X lab in a Roxxon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico: they are trying to save Lady Deathstrike, capture the scientists, and smash the Weapon X cyborgs. Old Man Logan, Sabretooth, and Domino are armed and ready. They dive from the airship and fight the cyborg sentries, destroying them all. Entering the building, Hulk is attacked by twenty cyborgs, watched from Washington by the mysterious leader who doesn’t think Hulk can handle it. And he can’t—until Sabretooth shoots him in the face, his sudden rage increasing his strength. They make it to the lab and while Hulk is battling more cyborgs, the others free Deathstrike and Warpath who join the battle. They corner the scientists and the angry Yuriko is ready to slaughter them out of revenge for the horrors they put her through but Hulk stops her, insisting they’re the good guys and asking them to name their boss. The boss, however, gives the signal to destroy the facility and only the heroes survive—and a mechanized bird delivers the sample of Hulk’s DNA to the big boss, Reverend William Stryker….
