Sharon Carter and the Daughters of Liberty
(Dryad, Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), Mockingbird, Toni Ho)
are watching via CCTV the riot at the Myrmidon prison. Steve Rogers,
who would rather have gotten out by legal means, finds himself teamed
up with the Wrecker and other super-powered felons in combat with the
heavily-armed guards. The cons resent his giving orders but he is
able to take out several guards with a hurled circular hatch cover.
Steve leads the push , heading toward the submersible bay. Baron Strucker,
the prison's ruler, is on his feet again after the beating
he took last issue but Invisible Woman and Misty Knight are on the scene to knock him out
again and discover he was working with some sort of AI protocol. The
Americops invade (the private police corps seen in Nick Spencer's run
on Cap) and take on the prisoners....
Meanwhile, Dryad is on another mission:
to capture the Foreigner, the real killer of Thunderbolt Ross whose
murder Captain America was framed for. She gasses the villain's
hideout, knocking out all of his henchmen and taking him on. Their
fight ends when Crossbones and Sin, hired by Aleksander Lukin to kill
Foreigner, fire a rocket launcher at the cabin and blow it to bits.
Dryad survives but without the asset....
Steve and his group arrive at the
submersible bay where they take on the Americops in a firefight.
Suddenly the cops all drop, thanks to Misty's finding a switch on the
controller. Then Steve is hit by one of Jack O'Lantern's pumpkin
bombs and goes down as the convicts board the subs and escape. Sue
and Misty rescue Steve and take the captive Strucker to their ship
and fly off. Steve asks for an explanation and Misty and Sue
smile....
