Hulk #10 Review by (November 2, 2022)

Review: So Hulk is the creator of an entire civilization? Wait until they find out he is not the infallible hero they believe him to be, fireworks will ensue. Another cool issue with a poignant moment for Bruce’s childhood and some apocalyptic action for the planet's history. And that final revelation will keep us tuned in.

Comments: The events that created the Hulk Planet took place in issue #6 of this series. The cover looks like it would suit the next issue better with its God Ball theme. Colors by Sonia Oback and Marte Gracia. Issue includes a tribute to the late Tom Palmer, classic inker, especially for Gene Colan.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Hulk #10 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Bruce Banner, age five, the day his father killed his mother, recalls how his mother always told him he was strong, not weak, told him to look at his shadow, which was his arm stopping the sun. But the fluorescent lights in the police station did not create a shadow he could see….

Starship Hulk is the guest of Monolith; he finishes his session with the Doc Samson Protocol and asks Monolith how this all came to be. She relates how the Abominations fell through a portal in the sky and began fighting each other. Eventually the debris created by the violence created a ring around the planet, blocking the rays of the gamma sun. This caused the people to grow and they created a civilization. And then the sun exploded and they saw the image of Hulk in the sky, raining gamma radiation down on them, causing a great advance in the culture, providing them with scientific information so that they built the world Hulk sees….

Hulk tests a huge machine and mentions it was a bit heavy, a word these people do not understand. He asks to be called Bruce and explains how he started out as a different kind of person, which Monolith interprets as one of the Grays, the feral creatures inhabiting the wilderness areas. He also tries to explain the events that caused their creation but they don’t quite understand. They do know of Hulk’s battle with Hammer Satan (Thor) and have commemorated it in stone….

Hulk is hailed as a hero and a citizen named Pave asks Hulk if he would take part in the God Ball games they have. Hulk agrees, being assured that he can hurt no one here. Then a scientist tells Monolith that scans show a tumor in Hulk’s brain and he is going to die….
