An odd opening
talks about the gods and how the first one was a man of fire, the original
Human Torch….
Chen Lu, the
Radioactive Man, arrives at the airport. The driver sent to pick him up is nervous and asks
if he is safe. RM assures him he’s a good guy, misunderstanding his concern.
But he quickly shifts, noting that if he stops glowing the driver is dead, leaving
the boy no calmer….
Thor and Sif
stand on the Rainbow Bridge, the All-Father pondering why he banished Loki for
his trickery but was open to granting the Enchantress’ request, despite her
being no less tricky. Thor feels guilty because he was not there to rescue
Amora’s son Iric when he died. Sif reminds him that neither was Amora and she (Sif)
was not there when her brother Heimdall died; they can’t be everywhere. Thor wonders
if he should release Iric from Valhalla but Sif argues that he wouldn’t be
grateful and it would set a dangerous precedent. But Thor is ready for
adventure, having donned his new magic belt Yolgjord, he desires to return to
Midgard to clear his name of a murder charge….
Thor arrives in
New York City (in front of the Flatiron Building) and the people are
frightened. Police order him to drop the weapon but Thor suggests that, since
they can’t pick it up, he bring it along to the station where he will submit. Radioactive
Man arrives and challenges Thor; the cops asks him to power down and he agrees…but
Thor knows that is a deadly threat to all the mortals in the area so he throws
the bad guy in the air and hurls Mjolnir to carry him away, following it in flight.
Elsewhere, Dario Agger watches with satisfaction….
Thor faces
Radioactive Man in an abandoned industrial building. RM hurls a deadly bolt
into Thor’s eyes, explaining it is a marker for aiming a teleportation device.
Then suddenly, Cobra and Mister Hyde are on the scene, Hyde pummeling Thor with
an increased strength and Cobra hurling his cobra gas. Blinded by the fog, Thor
is suddenly aware of someone behind him…and it’s the Grey Gargoyle, who turns
Thor to stone with a touch. But something is wrong…GG knows that as soon as he
removes his hand, Thor will return to normal instantly, likely due to his magic
belt. So Hyde solves the problem by smashing stone Thor to bits….
