Invaders, The #6 Review by (July 11, 2018)

Review: And now we see the seven new heroes in action against the four old ones and the issue provides a nice showcase for their talents. And the heroic banter they toss back and forth is especially delightful in a retro sort of way. As I said, this series promises fun and almost always delivers!

Comments: Part three of four parts.

Period Pop-Culture Details: Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd (puppets of ventriloquist Edgar Bergen)

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Invaders, The #6 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Story continued from MARVEL PREMIERE #29.

With four of the Invaders under the power of the Red Skull, Bucky Barnes has formed a new team called the Liberty Legion from other costumed heroes to defend America. Their successes enrage the Red Skull who has control of the Invaders only by intense use of his Nulla-Rays so he announces that the Invaders will attack famous American landmarks....

Sub-Mariner assaults the Statue of Liberty but Jack Frost and Blue Diamond show up to stop him and then Red Skull commands Namor to return to base....

In Philadelphia, Captain America attacks Independence Hall (at the time, site of the Liberty Bell) but finds Patriot and Miss America waiting for him. They give Cap a hard time and Red Skull recognizes that his Nulla-Rays slow down a subject's reflexes so he orders Cap to return....

The Human Torch and Toro are sent to destroy the Lincoln Memorial but run into Red Raven and Whizzer who manage to blow Toro's flames out and capture him. The Human Torch is ordered away by the Red Skull but soon, Bucky and Thin Man at the radio station look out the window and see the Torch coming straight at them....

Story continues in MARVEL PREMIERE #30.
