Hulk visits Thunderbolt Ross‘ base looking for Betty Ross. But the base appears deserted. Hulk asks the Avengers for help, and leaps until reaching New York. To prevent others from recognizing him, Hulk puts on a coat and a hat (!)
Suddenly, witnesses see the Sub-Mariner rushing out of a movie theater. Note: This links to Subby’s story (see below, “Like a Beast at Bay!”).
Hulk discovers that Glenn Talbot receives recognition for stopping Boomerang from stealing the Orion Missile. They take the missile to Cape Kennedy, and they shut down Ross’ base.
Police discover the Hulk and start chasing him. Hulk escapes without fighting back.
During his escape, Hulk saves a man. Witnesses believe the Hulk is well intentioned.
Meanwhile, Rick Jones receives payment of driving a car to New York, disregarding his boss’s evil intentions.
