All-New Invaders #13 Review by (February 7, 2015)
Comments: None of the regular characters appear in this issue despite the solicit claiming that All-New Cap would meet the Invaders. Title comes from the saying, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” The story picks up plot threads that have been waiting since issues #1-5. Among the alien races on the game pieces are Kree, Shi’ar, Skrull and Brood. Makkari has had a very long connection to the planet Earth: he was introduced in CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS #1 along with the title hero.

Review: A nicely drawn epic issue lacking any of the main cast is a bit heavy on exposition but I hope it leads to something cool. Is there any doubt? Well, yes: the issue ends with “To be continued…?” and the Previews for issue #15 mention the series drawing to a close. Think we can get all of the Toro and Killraven and the Eternals and the Kree stuff done by then? Or will it slop over into ALL-NEW CAP? Wait and see, Junior, wait and see….

All-New Invaders #13 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Kree warrior Tanalth the Pursuer arrives on an asteroid set up like a chessboard for space titans. She has been invited to a meeting by Makkari of the Eternals. He wants to ask about her quest for the God’s Whisper (issues #1-5), after which both the Kree and the Eternals have been acting strangely; she reveals that she had felt the same and when she asked questions she was attacked by members of her own elite guard who immolated themselves when they found they could not defeat her. Makkari also feels much different from his own race. Suddenly the two are attacked by several of the giant game pieces. The powerful Tanalth and speedy Makkari defeat their foes and they are revealed to be alien shapeshifters of a race neither one recognizes (but the reader knows they are Martians, having seen one at the end of issue #9). The creatures then catch fire like the Kree guards earlier. Tanalth and Makkari agree to work together to solve the mystery and depart….
