Story Name:

The Return of Toro, Part 2

Synopsis

All-New Invaders #15 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

Human Torch (Jim Hammond) and Sub-Mariner meet the elderly powerless Steve Rogers on a SHIELD craft at sea. Steve tells them that they are at the spot where he was discovered frozen in ice and rescued by the Avengers. They fill him in on the outcome of their most recent mission (begun last issue). The Invaders were in Germany battling a gang of Neo-Nazis led by the superpowered Uber Alles. Suddenly, the brutish Lash entered, looking for his brethren--Inhumans he deemed worthy of joining his master race. He summoned Toro, Iron Cross--and Uber Alles who was shocked to learn he was inhuman. The good guy Inhumans arrived to enter the big battle and Lash teleported away with only Uber Alles accompanying him.

Back in the present the three heroes chat about a possible romantic attraction between Jim and Radiance as well as a possible explanation for Toro’s true origins. Jim describes how he took Toro to the Inhumans' city of Attilan and the young hero realized he was home. They also talk about recent adventures that are still unresolved, involving the Eternals, the Kree, Winter Soldier, the British Invaders, Killraven, and a Martian invasion. The three men bid farewell to one another and go their ways.

Epilogue: Torch returns home where we learn that he had adopted Niels, Speedball’s hyperkinetic cat which was scheduled to be euthanized (last issue) and he helps the kitty to calm down.

Review / Commentaries

All-New Invaders #15 Review by (February 28, 2015)
Comments: Final issue of series.

Review: So this latest incarnation of the Invaders comes to an end and I’m going to miss it. True, the title was more sci-fi heavy than its previous versions and with its cancellation many plot threads were left loose, listed by our heroes in the issue itself. Perhaps that was the biggest flaw in the title, epic storylines that were never truly resolved and so we have to wrap them up in a package waiting for James Robinson to take over a new title and give them a proper conclusion. It was Robinson’s writing combined with Steve Pugh’s solid artwork that made this comic enjoyable though no classic.
