Captain America #41 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

At the secret complex housing the computers that scramble America’s launch codes, Captain America appears suddenly to stop a team of black-clad commandos from breaking into the building. After the gang is defeated it is discovered that they were a distraction while the codes were stolen by another man—Batroc the Leaper. Back in New York, Steve Rogers drops by for a visit to Connie Ferrari to apologize for his insensitive behavior and to assure her that he understands her professional oath. Their romantic evening is interrupted by a call from Sharon Carter: Batroc didn’t steal the codes but downloaded plans for a military maneuver and is heading for the SHIELD Helicarrier which was hijacked by the Red Skull some time ago. Cap goes alone, tracking Batroc along the East Coast. At the end of the trail he is attacked by the French mercenary, and stunned by a sudden shock from Batroc’s electrified boots. Batroc makes contact with his employer but Cap hurls his shield preventing the mercenary from handing over the stolen intelligence. Subduing Batroc, Cap finally gets a clear look at his real enemy: the Red Skull. Cap is fired upon by the hovering Helicarrier allowing the Nazi nemesis to board and escape.

Steve, dejected, returns to Connie’s apartment. Meanwhile in Khamiskan, Nick Fury finally comes face-to-face with his quarry: David Ferrari, Connie’s brother, who shoots the SHIELD agent….
