Synopsis

Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #425 synopsis by reviewer Julio MM
Rating: 5 stars

Agamemnon, imprisoned by the Pantheon, reveals to Hulk that only his death can deactivate the Endless Knights, cybernetic enforcers programmed to destroy the Mount. As the Knights breach the facility, Hulk organizes a mass evacuation, including Betty Ross, though she defies orders and returns to aid her husband (with the aid of Doc Samson).

The battle escalates, shattering the Mount itself. Amid the chaos, Agamemnon escapes confinement aboard a flying vessel. Atalanta pursues and fires upon the ship, killing Agamemnon in the explosion—halting the Eternal Knights.

But the conflict continues: Achilles and Ulysses clash over the Pantheon’s future. Achilles accidentally shoots Betty, triggering Hulk’s transformation into the Savage Banner—a fusion of the Mindless Hulk’s intellect with Banner’s strength. Savage Banner strikes Achilles, who laughs off the blow, seemingly invulnerable.

Ulysses, realizing Achilles has lost his protection due to gamma exposure, uses his weapon to kill him, ending the internal strife.
