Story Name:

Heart of the Monster: Part 4

Synopsis

Incredible Hulks #633 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4.5 stars

Amadeus Cho, still speaking remotely from the White House lawn, summons Monica Rappaccini to cure She-Hulk/Jen Walters and A-Bomb/Rick Jones of the poisons they were injected with by ArmChedon (last issue)....

Meanwhile, Umar, Hulk's former lover, is enticing him off to her realm; Red She-Hulk tries to stop her but fails. In Washington, President Barack Obama and other officials are surprised when Hulk disappears and Amadeus can't easily explain where he has gone....

Twenty-four hours later, Doctor Strange and Dr. Sofia Di Cosimo are on the scene and discover most of the players in this wishing game are not on Earth. Amadeus wants them all to go to the Dark Dimension but both Strange and Sofia warn that the uncertainties of wishing and the threat of the Hulk may cause more trouble than they can imagine....

In the Dark Dimension, Hulk is battling Mindless Ones and basking in Umar's love as ArmChedon, Bi-Beast, and Wendigo rot in the dungeons. And Red She-Hulk is there too as is another unexpected figure (it's Tyrannus)....

Amadeus, Strange, and Sofia use Monica's wish machine to enter the Dark Dimension but Monica and the machine remain in normal time while Strange, Sofia, and Amadeus arrive looking ready for a round of Dungeons and Dragons. They see Hulk battling giant trolls but they are attacked by Tyrannus and Red, riding Fin Fang Foom....

Incredible Hulks #633 Review by (September 24, 2018)

Review: And at this point the plot gets a bit murky and I confess I can't follow the talk about the wishes any more but nevertheless, Hulk is in his element, bashing monsters and enjoying the attentions of a supervillainess. So what can our heroes do about it? No idea—and Fin Fang Foom is always bad news. Another fine issue with epic visuals from Pelletier and Miki making this a big bag of thrills.

Comments: The sorceress Umar of the Dark Dimension is sister to Dormammu and has been primarily a foe of Doctor Strange, first appearing in STRANGE TALES #150; she became Hulk's captor and lover in DEFENDERS (2005 series) #1-5. Issues #631-634 feature interlocking covers.
