Synopsis

Captain America and ... #638 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars

The staff of Vennema Multiversal—who are all parallel versions of Kashmir Vennema herself—report to their superior (another Kash) that all the people at the Miami mission have been dumped into a random wasteland (last issue). Head Kash orders them found and eliminated….

In the alternate world, Captain America is on the run from a trio of Hydra tripods. The hero leads them back to where the two alternate Black Widows are bickering. Cap and his Widow mount one of the tripods and Natasha seizes control while Cap leaps to a second. Natasha orders the captive pilot to shoot down the third machine, whereupon the second one (with Cap on top) destroys the rogue machine, Black Widow narrowly escaping. Cap then employs an explosive given him by Natasha to blow up the last one….

The Kashes have finally pinpointed the world where Cap and company have been sent. Even though they suspect the heroes have already been killed by the locals they decide to send a hunt team to make sure. The hunters are Spider-Woman, Porcupine, Eel, Madcap, and Ulik….

Back in the wasteland, as they search for a way home, Cap and the Widows are surprised by a pack of lizard-men whose leader is wearing Doctor Octopus’ metal tentacles….

Review / Commentaries

Captain America and ... #638 Review by (October 30, 2012)
Review: My, this comic is red. Really red. Almost entirely black figures on deep red backgrounds. With dark green Tripods. But it doesn’t stop the red. The story is one big battle scene between the heroes and the Tripods and so quite exciting. The plot doesn’t really move anywhere. And did I mention the red?
