Synopsis
To try to gain control over the
Hulk, Amadeus Cho exiles himself to a satellite to run tests on himself. There, he receives a distress call from Sakaar, begging the Green Scar to come to their aid. He quickly takes off in a ship heading through a wormhole to Sakaar, changing into Hulk on the way. Crash landing on the planet, Hulk is immediately shot by a dart. He is facing a motley crew of wanderers riding damaged vehicles who are revealed to be the Clan Doka'abi led by Headman Bahng. Priestess Maeera explains that the dart filled him with talkbots that enable him to speak and understand the local language (well, that was convenient). They do not believe his protests that he is not the same Hulk as before and they show him that they are surrounded by the armies of the Warlord who conquered the world after the Green Scar departed. And now, if the Clan would remain free, they need a champion to fight for them in the Gauntlet. Notifying the Warlord's flunky Lickspit that they have a champion, they spend some time putting together a suit of armor made of various pieces left by dead warriors of the Clan. Maeera prays for the Worldbreaker though Amadeus doesn't like that title. And he is presented with his last meal, though he ends up giving it to some hungry children....

At sunset, Hulk enters the arena. The opening ceremony involves consecrating the battleground by beheading three true believers, to Hulk's shock. The Gauntlet begins and immediately Hulk is fighting warriors mounted on flying engines and steel-tentacled monsters which are attacking the Doka'abi spectators as well. Hulk suddenly blacks out and sees Amadeus as driving a car when the Hulk breaks out of the trunk and seizes the wheel to do what must be done. Unleashed, the ferocious Hulk becomes the Worldbreaker....
