The Hulk recalls in his dreams how he survived the gamma bomb blast in Middletown. Just before the explosion, he was transported to the microscopic world of K’ai by the wizard Gorsham, who summoned him to defeat a fanatical religious zealot known as the Inquisitor.

On K’ai, the people revere the Hulk, worshiping him as a godlike figure.
