Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #363

Doctor Doom sends the Grey Gargoyle to capture the Hulk. Bruce Banner is working under the alias Bruce Bancroft at a nuclear research facility as a janitor. However, one of the scientists discovers his true identity and offers to keep the secret in exchange for Bruce’s help in advancing his scientific career.

The Grey Gargoyle, in his human form, waits outside the research labs. When Bruce leaves, he impersonates a police officer, pulling Bruce over with a siren. He then easily turns Bruce to stone and loads him into the back of his car to deliver him to Doctor Doom.

At nightfall, Bruce transforms into the Hulk. The Grey Gargoyle panics and tries to pulverize Hulk’s stony form with a jackhammer, but the Hulk begins to break free. Desperate, the Gargoyle attempts to run him over with a steamroller. Hulk easily tosses him aside, leaving him with his arm broken backwards—unable to touch himself and maintain his stone form.
