Incredible Hulk #39 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Hulk reaches a shack were a caped woman is waiting for him. The woman invites Hulk with stew, and hipnotizes him using a metronome like the one Banner utilized to relax. The woman takes her cape out, leaving her with just a tiny black bikini. The woman is Sandra Verdugo. Hulk changes back to Banner. Verdugo reveals Banner that Ricky Myers is her son, and that Ricky is alive. Hulk killing him was all a setup. She also was accussed of killing Ricky, and sentenced to death. Before she was killed, an obscure company hired her to locate the Hulk. That company rescued her body in its way to the morgue. And revived her. That company has Ricky. The company promissed Sandra to get her son back in exchange of the Hulk. But Sandra doesn't trust them, those men will kill Ricky when she gives them the Hulk. So Sandra asks Banner to help her rescue Ricky from them. She also tells Banner that Ricky's father is Doc Samson (!). Samson had an affair with Sandra when they both were in Argentina, eight years ago. But Samson doesn't know about the boy. News don't stop there. Sandra deciphered some files on a CD ROM she found at a motel, when she met Slater. She uses Banner's laptop to show him those files. The files document a special weapon produced by that company that can affect the Hulk. Because of its impact, the gun is split in two pieces, and carried by two agents. Those two agents approach Jink Slater, when he was getting closer to the shack. Slater kills both, and puts the Hulk gun together. Slater enters the shack, shoots Sandra on the sholder, and asks Bruce to turn into the Hulk, cos the gun only works on the Jade Giant. Sandra reaches Banner's laptop and activates a bomb she had on the basement. Before the blast destroys the shack, Sandra asks Bruce to find her son, and Bruce turns into the Hulk. Later, Banner buries both bodies, and leaves. As he walks away, a hand comes out from one of the graves.
