Rating: 1 stars
While searching for clues to the location of his mentor Blacquesmith, Cable inadvertently triggers a temporal device that sends him into the Heroes Reborn universe. He appears at the side of Captain America and he prepares to battle Baron Zemo, MODOK, and squad of AIM agents that have taken over the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier.

After a few minutes, Rikki Barnes joins the battle. Cable determines that she must be the new Bucky. He then telepathically knocks out MODOK and watches Cap fight through the AIM agents toward Zemo.

Cable performs a brief telepathic scan and learns - much to his surprise - that this is the real Captain America, not an alternate-world version as he originally thought.

Before Cable can actually have a real conversation with the displaced hero, Blacquesmith's machines unexpectedly pull him back to the proper reality.

Review / Commentaries

Captain America (1996 series) #6 Review by (July 10, 2010)
On every level, the second story is considerably better than the first. This accomplished just as much in 3 pages as the first story did in 20. The first story literally comes out of nowhere. I suspect that when it became clear that the opening arc couldn't be extended further this was done at the last minute.
