Doc Samson hypnotizes the Hulk to start a psychoanalysis. During the hypnotic experience, Hulk fights the original Avengers (Thor, Giant Man, Wasp and Iron Man) and Bruce Banner himself. He sees Banner as a child and a teenager. He also sees friends Rick Jones, Crackajack, Mogol, and Jarella.
Doc Samson believed Hulk and Bruce Banner were the same person. But, the session reveals they are two distinct individuals.
Finally, they realize they gave an overdose of gamma-epinephrine, so Hulk will not revert into Banner for a longer period.
