Synopsis

Incredible Hulk #15 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4.5 stars

The Hulk is in turmoil as the mental assassin known as The Vegetable is attacking Bruce Banner in the fortress of his mind. Outside, Hulk is fighting the Hulked-out animal men created by Banner while the Mad Squad takes on the Doombots. One of the Doombots halts Commander Amanda von Doom in her tracks but suggesting that she most wants to learn if she is related to Doctor Doom, as her name implies. Inside Hulk's brain, The Vegetable is captured by the assembled monsters of Hulk's memories and Banner dons a pair of mechanical Hulk hands to give him a beating. Hulk puts the Hulk Cure in a gun and prepares to shoot the Hulked-out animals but he can't. Likewise, Amanda von Doom hesitates to open her file....

The men of Submera (issue #9) drink the last of their Black Mash to the Hulk's death....

The kids from Neverlab (issue #10) have colonized a new world and drink to their hero Hulk....

The Sasquatches (issue #11) sense the Hulk is in danger and wish him well....

The Moloids (issues #1-3) likewise know Hulk is in trouble and he's on his own....

Banner is cornered by The Vegetable and about to die but Hulk shoots himself with the Hulk Cure, releasing the Hulk in his mind to take on the assassin. Amanda von Doom destroys her file, choosing to face her own destiny. Banner, now on the outside, shoots various animal men with the Cure as Hulk on the inside defeats The Vegetable. And the Hulk is united, now and forever....

Amanda aids Banner in returning the animals to the island, and she packs up the Mad Squad to depart (also discovering that Mr. Gor and BRAIN are lovers). Bruce and Amanda kiss and Bruce is then clouted in the face with radioactive monkey poop; he becomes the Hulk to chase down the Hulked-out monkey....

Review / Commentaries

Incredible Hulk #15 Review by (February 5, 2019)

Review: Nice wrap up to both the arc and Jason Aaron's run on the series puts Hulk's and Banner's minds back together to give him some vestige of sanity while providing a lot of oddball characters and belly laughs. And we get to revisit a number of characters from previous issues who would not be seen again after this point. Pretty cool.

Comments: Part three of three parts. To date [1/2019] final appearances of The Vegetable and the Mad Squad. “Nobody deserves radioactive monkey poop to the face” is a sentiment hard to argue with.
