The Hulk in the Mirror Part 2

Synopsis

Totally Awesome Hulk #6 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Thor (Jane Foster) confronts Amadeus Cho, accusing him of joining the Enchantress’ schemes against Asgard. He insists he doesn’t know because he blacked out as soon as he became the Hulk so she hurls him through the air, causing him to Hulk out. Hulk doesn’t know either and his sister Maddy Cho backs him up. Thor takes them to a secret Dwarven outpost in Iceland where he learns he helped Amora make off with the dwarves’ cache of Uru. Hulk promises to retrieve it for them and Maddy uses a spectrometer to track down the missing metal…

…to a nearby cave where Amora has Dark Elves forging new weapons out of it. Hulk and Thor crash in and Amora orders the elves to attack with the new Uru weapons. Thor calls for a retreat and while she fights off the elves, Amadeus reveals to Maddy that Amora was able to control him though a vision of their parents’ deaths. Maddy assures him it is all right to get mad—if he’s mad at the Enchantress. Hulk seizes control of the wheel and hurls himself into the melee—but Amora presents him with the huge Uru axe he was promised when he became her king. Hulk wields the axe to destroy all of the elves’ Uru weapons, leaving the cleaning up to Thor. And Maddy gives Amora a jolt of electricity to stop her from trying to ensnare Hulk again. The villainess vanishes and the Uru axe plus all of the fragments are turned over to the dwarves. Thor tells Hulk she’ll be keeping an eye on him….

Epilogue: Amadeus and Maddy visit their parents’ grave together….

Review / Commentaries

Totally Awesome Hulk #6 Review by (November 25, 2019)

Review: A nice wrap up with Amadeus learning he is allowed to be angry if it is channeled in the right direction. As a change of pace, the art by Mike Choi and Andrew Crossley is brightly colored and uncluttered and suits this lighter-hearted tale very well. And Amora is always a fun villain even if she tends to have only one trick in her bag; it’s the seductions that provide the best entertainment.

Comments: Part two of two parts. Story is a prelude to “the “War of the Realms” event a few years away.
