Synopsis
The Masters of Evil are quickly defeated by the Avengers. Captain America arrives after the battle, but just in time to stop Thor from killing Klaw. Thor doesn't understand their philosophy and finally quits the team.
During the cleanup, Janet Van Dyne appears at the mansion and tells Iron Man that Hank Pym is missing. The timing of certain events: Hank's disappearance, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s reclamation of the Vision, and the defection of Ultron, lead Iron Man to think there is more at work than they previously thought. He and Van Dyne make their way to Nick Fury for some answers. Moments after they leave, Loki arrives and converts the Masters of Evil into energy and absorbs them into his body.
Hank Pym finally awakens from the electrical overload. He confirms his suspicions that someone has been extracting information from the Vision's memory banks. He doesn't understand how or why, but he knows he needs to get out before the Vision's immune system kills him. He makes his way to the ear canal and leaves the Vision's body where Iron Man and Janet are waiting on him.
Fury and his troops appear. He tells the intruders that he knew Pym was in there the entire time. What he doesn't know is how they got aboard. Iron Man coyly states that he knows all the secrets to the heli-carrier since Stark Industries built it. He demands that Pym get debriefed immediately. This issue becomes moot when the Vision begins to smoke, indicating detonation will occur. Iron Man ejects the Vision from the heli-carrier seconds before it explodes. They use this opportunity to leave, which greatly angers Fury. He wants them brought back immediately.
Loki and the Scarlet Witch appears at Avengers' Mansion. It is revealed that he is the one that has been accessing the Vision's mind. He is surprised that the Vision detonated. This is of little concern as the Scarlet Witch breaks away and attempts to locate Captain America. When Loki finds her, she is fighting Hellcat who is still bitter about her betrayal of the team. Loki puts her in a suspended state and recruits Hellcat by offering her the body and mind of the Scarlet Witch.
Iron Man contacts Captain America and requests that he meet him at Avengers' Island. When he arrives there is some unusual activity from the gamma core. The current theory is that it's a tear in the fabric of reality. This is shown to have some basis in fact when a massive energy discharge brings the real Thor into this universe.
