Hulk finds himself at the bottom of the
ocean in the Free State of Southern Submera built on the ruins of
ancient Atlantis, a remote frontier outpost of Namor's kingdom. The
woman doctor explains that she was only following Bruce Banner's
instructions: to sew an object into his chest then inject him with
adrenaline so that he turned into Hulk. Hulk learns that it was a
magic rock that powered the colony's agriculture and the colonists
want it back. Hulk is suddenly fighting the massed forces of the
locals (people, sharks, squids) led by Old Sharky, determined to
recover the magic that allowed them to produce Black Mash, the local
booze that gives them superpowers. The battle/chase sees Hulk
battling crab riders and hitching a ride on a cave whale until the
warship (a regular ship used as a shell by a giant crab) catches up
with Hulk and they open fire. It's when Hulk gets a mouthful of Black
Mash that he smashes the ship to pieces and makes it to shore with
the doctor. There she reveals that she was working with Banner all
along to get the magic rock out of Atlantean territory; her reward
was an airline ticket to anywhere in the world. She turns out to be a
siren who can knock Hulk out with her voice while she removes the
implanted object...
...and Hulk next awakens in space,
tearing apart his spacesuit as he transforms....
