As Bruce Banner lies comatose in a hospital, watched over by She-Hulk and Betty Ross, the Hulk—now fully mindless—unleashes devastation across a New Mexico city. The destruction is catastrophic, with hundreds of casualties and widespread panic.
In response, a coalition of heroes—Iron Man, Wonder Man, Hercules, and Namor the Sub-Mariner—arrives to stop the rampaging titan. But before they engage, Doc Samson intervenes.
Wracked with guilt over his role in separating Banner from the Hulk, Samson pleads with the heroes to stand down. He insists that the monster is his responsibility, and that he alone must face the consequences of his actions.
Reluctantly, the heroes agree, allowing Samson to pursue the Hulk alone.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Bruce Banner begins to stir. The coma lifts, and the man who once shared a body with the monster begins to awaken—just as the world reels from the chaos left in Hulk’s wake.
